Gavin Tylvan
Gavin Tylvan is a warrior and wannabe bounty hunter from Hafne. He has been quite active in Dort and spent most of his life on the island with a brief excursion to Aether and Western Kingdom. He is a player character.
Background
Coming from a well respected family (his father was a Hafne judge), Gavin left home after his father was found to be corrupt and fled to avoid the justice. Seeking to right that wrong as he had done many times since, the tall man sought to become a bounty-hunter. It never came to pass since he became involved with Cristobal Scion and the strange events surrounding his ship. Encountering undead and demons he saved the life of Count Johan von Bleib-Hier and after the civil war in Islay started tried to stop the conflict. His meeting with Milkhaire and the Clans failed and the conflict started anyhow, he found himself in the burned Hafne.
Transported into Aether through a portal stone he acquired from the undead aboard a crashed ship, he and the others got involved in the conflict between the Dominicus and other Gods in that place. Seeking to parlay with the living forest he was crushed by the Immortal Oak and somehow emerged alive and well in the vicinity of King's Court in Western Kingdom. Making his way across half the world he returned to Hafne and sought his friends and companions with unparalleled zeal.
Physical Description
Known for his rather extensive beard and imposing size, even by Islay standards, the tall warrior is most often seen wearing an unpolished grey steel armor and the same pair of sturdy boots he has worn for yahren. Looking much older than he actually is, he tends to act in the same manner, though at times his youth comes to fore. Most of his possessions have been with him for quite a while and while they tend to look worn and even a bit decrepit, they are quite functional and in pretty good shape if not looking the part. Several scars tell of the dangerous journey he had traveled, the one upon his forehead a reminder of his friendship with Hex da`Bergliin and their sparring match near the Drunken Duck. His chest and forearms still bear the signs of demon's acidic blood, even though the scars are mostly hidden by the clothing.
Personality
Gavin's trust is not easily gained and once someone betrays it, that person is all but dead for the tall warrior. He has great respect for law and has yet to break in on purpose, though with the latest changes brought to him by his near-death experience in the Aether that might be open for debate if the cause was worthy enough. Highly profession and quite efficient he has brought that almost to perfection lately, and tends to consider his actions in detail before acting even though he is not slow to act.
On the contrary, Gavin tends to be rather swift in action, especially as of late, after he was left by others when he tried to organize their efforts in the Aether. Prone to bouts of stubbornness and defiance, he thinks little of danger, though he is not very likely to risk his life if other courses might get him to the goal. Survivor above al else, he has gotten out of many troubles and will just as likely continue to do so.
Known Associates
Syrawenn - a fifteen yahren old troublemaker and trouble personified who also happens to hold the big man's heart. Their relationship tends to be very turbulent and rather interesting.
Amber Kynterle - another girl and just as much trouble as Syrawenn. Made to chose between the two of them Gavin chose the younger, though he did not deny the feelings he had and still does for the fiery farmgirl. He cares about Amber Kynterle greatly and even went to war in order to see her safe.
Abner Klop - gnomish vegetable scientist. The pair met at the Newcomers Party in Dort and have been fast friends ever since. Together they slew the demon that threatened Amber and Count Johan von Bleib-Hier and have traveled to make peace between the Count and the Clans. Lost contact during the burning of Hafne
Gwayne, son of Ferlong - adhiel "mercy bringer" and a likely a future Priest of the Mother. Known for the unique approach to life and things and for being in love with Syrawenn as well, despite her, at times, harsh treatment of the tattooed adhiel.
