Mage Hunters
The Mage Hunters is a group of mage students based at the University of Magic lead by Professor Peckerton.
Background
The Mage Hunters were formed to ensure that the University and Citadel remain safe from the dangers attracted to the University. The group is made up entirely of students, as dictated by the Prophecy of the Way, created by Arch-Master Cayless. The Ways dictate that there should be up to ten Hunters, falling into ten different Traditions, which are shown by the ten Major Arcana of the Cayless Tarot.
"Working together, warlocks, diviners and two priests of fate created a powerful prophecy to guard the University against the entities it attracted. They selected ten roles and imbued them with special gifts, each of which grew in strength if it was used in conjunction with others. They linked these roles to special cards - which later became the Major Arcana of the Cayless Tarot - and ensured that only a carrier of said card could call upon those powers. The group of individuals using the prophecy could only be men and women of the University - students, in fact, seem to work best. They called this group the Mage-Hunters, because they, err, were mages as well as hunters." - Professor Peckerton

These cards represent the student's role inside the Mage Hunters, and are said to mystically back their chosen ones so they will excel in the role chosen for them.
Members: Past & Current
The students in the Mage Hunters are guided primarily by Professor Peckerton, who is the Guide of the group, although other Professors know of the group and can suggest students for membership.
