Forces of Darkness

The Forces of Darkness is a term applied by the diverse people on the Tazlure Globe to refer to evil gods as well as the Nether. It contrasts with the Forces of Light. This simplified view of the world hides a deeper truth of the divine that eludes many, for all gods encompass both the dark and the light, which provides balance. The Paladin Order of Illuminatus especially have repeatedly caused crusades to be held against any of the Forces of Darkness after the Great Battle and again after the death of Caesar Anochrim, whether they be dark arts practioners, chaos creating gods like Pan or daemon lords.

The followers of the One God Dominicus have followed this philosophy but taken it one step further, defining only one God, who is the light and everything, and defining everything dark as part of the Nether that endangers order and the entire Aether and Tether. The perceived existence of dark elements in the pagan gods of the Seven Isles Pantheon has been one of the driving forces behind the crusade of the War of the One as far as the Prodesse and the One Church is concerned.
