There are many imported families in the capital of the Empire of Seven Isles. Some of them stay for more than a generation and become the influential and rich of the Citadel itself. Nobility in the Citadel do not hold estates in the Citadel, and only rarely outside the Citadel. Most of them are landless nobility, their titles granted by the crown out of gratefulness for their contribution to society and most of all their support of the throne.

If there was one thing that the aristocrats of the Citadel knew how to do well, it was to throw an absolutely smashing soiree. If there were two things they knew how to do well, it was to make those soirees breathtakingly exclusive. - All That Glitters
